The Forest

by Steven Craig

Yes.

When the sun breaks the edge of the forest, through the scattered trees its rays search for solid ground. It takes a little while at times, and on some days, the clouds do get in the way... but the trees are there, living proof that the sun does find the spot to warm the seed, and hasten its roots in the warm black earth beneath it. And each ring that the seedling adds to its to its life, is an experience that it uses to built its life anew, to give it strength to weather storms and drought, and with the coming of a winter, the wood is its own promise of a spring renewal.

You have weathered the winter, and while there may still be a late frost, it is spring again and time for you to set out your branches, and leaf the twigs and open the buds, and join in the folic of a safe and secure place amongst the forest and the trees...

Do not fear the rain, for it gives you the water of life. Do not fear the night, for it is a time to rest for the next full day, do not fear the river, it will not sweep you away, it adds beauty to your smile. And as the days brighten and swell in your life, give thanks where thanks are due, and give thanks that God took a moment, and smiled upon you.
