In All My Years

by Thomas K. Hunt

In all my years these living years
You've filled my head at night
Hiding in my last thought
before I turn out the light

I drift off to find you
To bring you back again
To find myself that feeling
of a time from way back when

Now, just a dream to me
A yearning from my past
In all my years these living years
each lived just like the last

You always appear the same to me
A vision in the light
You softly whisper my name
that brings a peace to my night

A foot away but out of touch
I feel you just the same
In all my years these living years
I've also whispered your name

The yearning... and a feeling of almost being able to touch, but just out of reach, is captured so very well in this. You allow all who read a glimps not only of you, but themselves. Well Done!
