June. must. glow.

by Steven Kenworthy

drawbridge down
princess
a pearlescent monument to you
& the hair i feel you'd be irresistible with
a ponytail today
just the same
shirt i wore yesterday thinking (the planets orbiting/me spinning)
if you became better friends with your reflection
a more honest relationship
a truth to be told
true i adore you
adoration's best friend admiration
stopped by
ignored the sidewalk
leaped over
the fence of caring like family is
puzzle pieces
a part of you?
i see walking past curiosity
questions, questions
if you saw the things i wish and wonder, and eventually
will to fade on hopeless sailboats
emotionally it can be traumatic
the three sheet mast asthmatics
has me ashore
unlike attics
young
you're not a child, but so young to ache like this
surgery for beginners i can't say no to cutting you open
i feel real
in mint green
this is by far the best moment to love you

on the couch, cover
clover, i know i'm lucky
fortunate, forever
funny fever we're wrestling over the fireplace's effect on heat
you keep me warm
sweaters
the size of a smaller than i will ever be (girly)
get dressed down for
verging
stripping
wearing much much less
you keep me warm about how
this day is earthquakes
the tremble next to new girls
hello & goodbye
i told you about my notion of already knowing her
she, perhaps familiar with
poison and potion
might try to hurt yourself
esteem engine
a pilot who shoots her own stars out
upset catapults
please stop and see
i need you in my life a little more every month

away now that i'm away
say,
"let's not forget how,
a goddess is almighty"

a well-designed bridge who laughs at wind/wake
up
this is your lover calling
falling all over
trying to carefully define lover
: a man who loves you
not like
friction
and my hands all over
non-fiction books
you're actual
factual meaning
high definition satellite help me out
take pictures
mental pictures
predictions of how i see her
in 2 years or so the midnight can be a million things
telescopically
ohio, thank you for...

sleep becomes slumber but dreams
happen all the time

Hope darling,
how about tonight
through this sea island parkway escape
the tide and break
the telephone poles
pray
you catch one single glimpse
a pinch of atlantic salt self acceptance
slide
to the notecard in the kitchen
you are a female creation for the ages
sit on countertops next to me
on the edge of more maybes than proposals
let's pretend to be ten again
you were phenomenal then
you will be phenomenal tomorrow

Well, the poem does depict the cause and the effect hoping for the effect to turn into cause for yet another effect full of hopes.
