The Blackboard Oracle

When you seek a thought, do you chase after it that instant that it has come to pass,
Or do you let it wander on, perhaps to be found by some other?
Or never to the found at all?
Seemingly, people do not understand what the mind comprehends.
A lifetime can be wasted just wondering " . . . if . . .".
You can get lost in a sea of "ifs",
Lose all you ever had.
The bridges that you built and crossed you will find burnt behind you.
The gold that you cherished will have turned to salt.
All that you once had will be forever lost and your dreams will perish utterly.
And gravity will overcome you, no resistance will it meet.
And that gravity will hold you down and drag you roughly,
And tear at your most tender points, and wear you utterly away.
Your mind will have the victory when the person is succumbed.
You will know that it has happened when you say . . .
" Why didnt I? ".
An "if" in life is like this chalk,
All to likely to blow away by morning.
