The Rain Comes Down

by Charles M Harrison

The silent room quiet as a tomb the day he was to be a groom
the rain comes down
Head on his hand a pitiful man no wedding band
the rain comes down
No tears to cry from a blood red eye it was all a lie
the rain comes down
His lonely heart is torn apart loved her from the start
the rain comes down
Love was never meant could not be heaven sent for such a gent
the rain comes down
The sound of thunder he can only wonder to make such a blunder
the rain comes down
Tears fall from the sky none left to cry he wonders why
the rain comes down
In another place he wore a happy face not one of disgrace
the rain comes down
Only an echo of a love he did know and pain he can't show
the rain comes down
Memories of the fun of happiness and sun with his special one
the rain comes down
The plop plop sound of raindrops hitting ground if he could drown
the rain comes down
She had another for a love he did discover
the rain comes down
Lightening flashed hopes dashed his heart crashed
the rain comes down
An angry word that was overheard his heart disturbed
the rain comes down
Made a threat on this bet you will regret
the rain comes down
He sleeps alone now she's gone pain to the bone
the rain comes down
Wishes he were still with her can't change murder
the rain comes down
Her body found on muddy ground ourside of town
the rain comes down
