Converge like Waves

by Lulu Alder

We dig our feet into the beach ignoring the shards of scotch bonnets
just so we can feel the grains sift between our toes and cascade down.
To touch what is real,
the antiquated nativity of mankind.

The people of no consequence,
consequentially fade away.
Our intimate island of altering earth
is cluttered with the absence of want.

You’re watching the light rays bounce off the water
in a chaotic elfin dance
and designing the moments of life
when tomorrow and yesterday converge like waves.

there is so much said in this little poem, and still none of it feels forced, flows very naturally, like the waves described herein...a pleasure to read...peace, *jewels*
