Hell and the Grave

by T.J. Carver

Screaming in this vacuum space,
Sinning in the mirror’s face

Weeping for those open wings
Ripping and tearing these quiet things.

Hopeful as the fire burns
Lustful as the razor turns

Forever darkened by Charon's kiss
In a bloody broken lover's bliss.

Sleeping, dying in a dream
Waking, living in between

Crying out for brief salvation
Between Hell and the grave
A last temptation.
