Fear Tomorrow

by Jersey D Gibson

Everyday brings me something
I can't change.
When you wonder why I can't
live like this?
Something passes in my eyes
I can't define.
Look to me in with your dying smile
as I start to cry!

How can you expect me to change
when I fear tomorrow?
How can you tell me to play
when I'm all used up?
How can you lead me astray
when I've had enough?
How can I look to a brand new day
when I fear tomorrow?

Something hides on the inside
I can't describe.
Look at me as the image breaks
where can I hide?
Chips down, the board is set
I'll take the fall.
Dear God, I've lost my pride
have I had enough?

How can you expect me to change
When I fear tomorrow?
How can you tell me to play
when I'm all used up?
How can you lead me astray
when I've had enough?
How can I look to a brand new day
when I fear tomorrow?
