how do you tell an angel you love her?

by Aaron Michael

you silence the ghostly echoes

that ravage a night so perfectly still.

the cemetary serenity

of a soul running blind in daylight

is livened by a portrait of literary perfection

that i never thought i'd see again.

i'd give my soul to touch yours

if only it was mine to give.

this frozen moment,

still oceans of time

leave me too much thought

of how it should be.

my own personal ice age

to dwell

on what might have been.

odd that i feel your spark

from such distances.

your breath is the warm breeze

that keeps me from becoming landscape.

your smile is a candle in the distance

giving me a pursuit so i don't lose my mind.

how do you tell an angel you love her

without feeling like she's heard it all before?

I really like this line: "your breath is the warm breeze that keeps me from becoming landscape." If I think about it too much, it tangles my brain, but the sound of those words together & the initial hearing of them is beautiful. I also like the last line: "how do you tell an angel you love her without feeling like she's heard it all before?" Sometimes loving a person is more a benefit to the lover that to the loved. :)
