these are the days of our lives by Aaron Michaelgod's ego is in the details
that are between everything that is.
this spun-sphere world we call home
is cultivation for a justified god complex
and the stories of our lives
the movies that he watches over and again,
the hallowed episodes of an
all too real series he can't shut off,
because he loves every character flaw
and idiosyncracy like it were his own,
because he has nothing but time,
and they never get old.
so sun gives way to night,
and the cycle circulates
and revolves as we get older
but god remains, popcorn in hand,
watching what the next season of
life as we know it will bring,
even though he's seen it all before,
and i remain happily unaware of what happens next,
because i'll be damned
if my life is going to be a rerun.
but i have a feeling i'd watch it anyway.
