rainbows are better in black and white

by Aaron Michael

some colors don't run,

but when you sweat and it

burns your eyes so bad

that you can't help but tear up

permanent isn't so permanent.

liquid erodes mountains,

but builds rainbows the same way.

broken shards of light arraying

themselves in perfect order.

but color blends and bleeds

to extremes when the sky cries,

and that black clouded whitelightning

sky seems to hold so much more attention

than simple colors racing each other across

a blue backdrop.

but when the bolts split the skies open

and the thunder sounds the end of the chase

i almost feel like the sky's putting on a show

just for me.

life seems more beautiful in greyscale,

and the skies are no different
