The Pool by Joe CramerThe pool does glisten
In late afternoon sun
As to you Emily, I listen
To your happiest song of fun.
Days wane now, fall rushes in
Days of warm summer sun gone
Now that the cooler climes begin.
Time rushed by, moving on.
I long for days when you are with me
My sweet little seven year old girl.
To see the world through the eyes you see
I would but give you all the world.
Instead I survey late afternoon September sun
And listen yo your joyous cries in fading day.
Blue waters sparkle as they have begun
To move life forever forward, on and away. 09/23/2003 Posted on 07/10/2006 Copyright © 2025 Joe Cramer
