The Pool

by Joe Cramer

The pool does glisten
In late afternoon sun
As to you Emily, I listen
To your happiest song of fun.

Days wane now, fall rushes in
Days of warm summer sun gone
Now that the cooler climes begin.
Time rushed by, moving on.

I long for days when you are with me
My sweet little seven year old girl.
To see the world through the eyes you see
I would but give you all the world.

Instead I survey late afternoon September sun
And listen yo your joyous cries in fading day.
Blue waters sparkle as they have begun
To move life forever forward, on and away.

this is a glistening summer poem, and your daughter is heard throughout...beautiful, daddy...the fading day and summer is echoed in her fading cries...amazing, the whole folder a treasure...peace, jewels
