My Turn to Dance

by Thomas K. Hunt

There’s a fly in the ointment
Only one that I see
Just buzzing around
Loves annoying me

Clouds are forming
It’s going to storm I’m afraid
I can see it coming
The rain for my parade

It‘s not my day
There’s nothing good for me
Nothing I can say
No site that I can see

I still go on this way
I’m so used to this now
Ever day like yesterday
That's all that is allowed

Nothing can be done
It’s all in my mind
Just to break a smile
Seems a waste of time

So fly keep on buzzing
Dance around my skin
At least one of us two losers
Gets a chance to win

Rain fall all around my parade
Make it real, not some masquerade
I remember from way back when
I’ve seen it before I’ll see it again

Fly, you stop your buzzing
Yes, there’s still a chance
You can sit this one out
It’s my turn to dance
