scooter

by Mary Ellen Smith

she scoots along

dragging the toe of her shoe

hardly ever watching where she is going.

her world is beautiful

and the cracks in the sidewalk

don't bother her a bit.

What fun scooters were when I was young. This poem brings out fond memories....Charlie

I can appreciate the simplicity of this fine piece, Mary Ellen. It say exactly what needs to be said by laying the groundwork for the readers venturous mind, while leaving her mother to tend a very sore back.
