Melting

by Joe Cramer

Her smile melted me here
As if I were not there.
So bright, so cheerful, so carefree
Lighting up the weary day, just for me.

I watched her smile,
Shyly, coyly, first a grin.
She did not know that I was there
I didn't know that she cared.

Her eyes were so incredible
So awesome, so lovely golden
That they were at first shocking
In their appearance.

I was startled, mesmerized,
Swayed and enchanted
All in an instant.
Just for her smile.
