sunset

by Peter Humphreys

pink
demure
sunset
purple
blue
defile
three
arched
bridge
cross
broadening
river
lovers
dawdling
dogs
awakening
rowers
slipping
sliding
by
on
that night
as
midges
mingle
she
walked
off
the
parapet
edge
dropping
walking
waving
drowning
in the
evening
summer
tide

It's like time stands still for this moment of yours, Peter. Excellent.
