Silly Monkeys by Tracy EllenWarm little hands on Mamas arm
Plump little cheek on the shoulder
Golden head resting on her stomach
Little minds everyday growing bolder.
Silly bodies chicken dancing
Though the heart of their home
Hes singing a new funny song
She is looking for hair to comb.
The boy wanting to catch Mama
unaware. Jump! Boo! Did I scare?
Theres that grin again, sly boy,
Mama feigns her fright with care.
She wears fairy wings and bracelets
The most wonderful sound, her giggle
The looks she gives, so like a woman
Constant motion, constant wiggle.
And now they are jumping on the bed
Again! Despite warnings from Mama
One stern look, serious eyes, uplifted brow
And off they fly with such indignant drama.
Such unselfconscious little monkeys
Funny faces, squeeze hugs and kisses
Are the answer to most of their wishes
And to Mama, are so sweetly delicious.
