Another Way by Junemarie RoldanThe night falls all around me like a blanket
The stars all fade and slowly start to die
And oh my heart has gone so still and quiet
It's just another way to say goodbye.
The sun comes up and sheds its wintry lightness
But never does it seem to shine on me
My life has lost its color and its brightness
And pain becomes my own reality.
There was a time when once I thought you knew me
But now your wintry chill just blows right through me.
I only have a few more tears to cry...but then
It's just another way to say goodbye.

Posted by Vere Mantratriad on 06/28/06 at 03:39 AM Sad and sharp write...almost difficult to read because you can feel it being whispered through tears. Well done. |
Posted by Anne Engelen on 06/30/06 at 05:27 AM so drenched with sadness and yet at the same time feels like a realization, a final end to what was, the final goodbye ready to start a new journey. |
Posted by Joan Serratelli on 07/01/06 at 11:12 PM Sad, yet I can feel your conviction and power. I really can relate to this piece. The last stanza blew me away! Excellent write! |
