There's chaos at the zoo
But don't go panicking,
The monkey has escaped
And it's all gone manic
In the zoo.

Hyenas think it's funny
And they roll about laughin'
'cos the monkey's in the water
Where the elephants are bathin'
In the zoo.

The wolves are howling
And the lions roar with laughter
'cos the monkey's up a tree
And the sloths are chasing after
In the zoo.

Through the house of spiders
And swimming with the whales
Eventually the cheetah
Caught him by the tail
In the zoo.

He told the secretary bird
Why he had gone mad
Then he gave an interview
And his story was so sad.
In the Zoo.

The monkey had explained,
When asked by a TV vet,
'I'm not just a monkey mate.
I'm a bloomin' marmoset.
So wouldn't you?
