cravings for a sweet tooth, i have lonesome bed blues by Lauren Singeryou were saturday mornings
and hot tea right off the kettle.
brisk winter nights,
and kerosene dreams.
drippy wax and ice cubes
run down from tongues on the warm flesh
of an autumn lover.
you were always so tempting
and illegal.
like fireworks in july
in a residential neighborhood
at 4 in the morning.
i always loved that about you. 06/24/2006 Posted on 06/24/2006 Copyright © 2024 Lauren Singer
