Red Desert [05.22.06]

by Joseff Marat

the red desert wind blows
through the arabs painted wood
slowly forming a hypnotic pulse of life
into these arid wastes of sand

so bright the sun shines and blinding at the horizon
a mirage forming through heat upon heat
nomads, camels in rows - a caravan
wanderers - completely at peace

upon the oasis a melody is weaved
blue water upon brown tapestries
sacred life from the pagan gods
refreshing; hidden
a worshipped paradisaic garden
beyond lies beauty; a new Earth
the face of the true god in a woman

Author's Note: This is an entry from a book size piece called "Brians Landscape" - I chose this one because... It was the first one I came across in ink.
