11. angelus

by Peter Humphreys

on
bee
flowered
banks of
purple
yellow
green
lovers
meet

men
scurry
home
from
work

traffic
beeps
and
bumps

young
women
jog

old men
exercise
dogs
on
bicycles

worlds
thrum

climaxing
he lifts
her high
around
his waist
legs
wrapped
legs
locked

the angelus
tolls our
hour is
nigh
