05. raven

by Peter Humphreys

morning
light
enters
almost
unseen

caw craw

hands
clenched
your back
relaxed
and
curved

caw craw

slowly
slightly
Rome
wakens
the new day
as you
turn
your face
towards
me

caw craw

I think
of all
the times
that have
been
and
gone
and
could
be

caw craw

we are
in
awe
