willingly

by Frankie Sanchez

{or; pain is a side effect of pleasure, you're bound to hurt the one you love}
{or; it pains a writer to conceive a happy ending}

a mouthful of bitter, addictive poison
and it becomes clear
that you may well be the end of me,
my accomplice,
my well-hung noose,
my happy ending,
it seems that by loving you to death i am killing myself,
willingly,

my only request is that you take it slow,
allow me to enjoy it,
and in these moments where pain and pleasure
collide and confuse,
i only ask that with every thrust,
with every taste,
with every grasp,
i only ask, that with every last breath,
please,
do your best to make it worth it.

I love the word "thrust." Can I day that?
