Australian crawl

by James Zealy

Stroke
Hands cupped slighty
Grasps liquid fluidity
Pull to opposite hip
kick

Stroke
Muffled ears strain to hear
Opposite lane water caress
kick

Stroke
Full speed strain to concrete wall
Approaching about to hit head first
Flip spin no hand touch
Feet spring off the wall
kick

Breathe
Head turns chlorinated odor gasp
Hips roll ever so slight

Stroke
Water fills the mouth for a moment
Subtle chemical taste spit out
Kick

Stroke
Legs burn
Lungs ache
Arms deaden
Kick

Slap the wall done

THIS IS AMAZING...I was a swimmer once too, and never have I seens such an effective style, line breaks, strong imagery and ideas, perfectly poised one stanza to the next...creative and beautiful, peace, *jewels* ps: loved the stroke, kick and breathe repeating at the beginning and end of each stanza, very effective...it captures each stanza in motion...
