I disgust myself
with these pathetic portraits
of love
(unbridled)
and lust
(unfulfilled)
unwanted
I wallow
So did you lie?
When you said you
wouldn't leave
That you wouldn't
hurt me
That we were
forever
Or was I an honest distraction?
(or just a bad habit... )
If you read me
Will that change your mind?
Would you find me worthy
or deserving
of what you offer?
Or would I still be unwanted?

She laughs at me and
my adolescent dreams
That One that still holds
your heart
and ripped my dreams from me
She had her chance!

So since you don't know
And since you can't see
Since I'm not good enough
My pen is laid to rest
I can't fight for you
or plead my case
I write in silence
Wishing I could tell you
that
I am worthy
I am deserving
I am good enough
And I may be
unwanted
by you
But I won't be
unwanted
forever.
