sighs

by Peter Humphreys

light
shafting
through
gnarled
yet tender
trees

water
gushing
pushing
over broken
weir
flows

lying
under me
your hair
falls splayed
on fresh
mown grass

your eyes
sky clear
as clouds
above
reflect in
pools below

tender mercies
gentle courtesies
heavy hearts and
deep deep
sighs awaken
dawns soft call

This feels like a whole new way to say that parting is indeed such a sweet sorrow! I'm delighted with this, Peter. Thanks friend.

Gently worded like a sigh itself. Lovely writing.
