Home

sometimes we breathe the same

by Paul Marino

finding my way through back
roads in may with certainty
that when i get home
you’ll be unsure

of how i feel.
we’'ll be one
flight up

and down again
to do laundry at 8
with full stomachs

and loads of lights
to wait patiently for.
at the time,
it should be getting dark.

You make the mundane oh so poetic with this poignant piece that strikes the heart of metaphor.

Gotta agree with jadi. I've never had that much fun doing the laundry. I guess it's the company you keep. CONGRATULATIONS on POTD!

Congrats my friend on POTD!!!! Funny, I had missed this piece somehow. I really love this Shawnelle. Two words ~ simple complexity.
