Revealed by Richard VinceNow that darkness has fallen,
I am unable to hide;
The window has turned inwards
To betray me, to give her
A perfect view into my sanctum.
Her eyes are closed, it is
True, but her sleep is discontinuous;
Every so often, her eyes flicker,
And she adopts a
Different contortion.
Somehow, I feel that
Her eyes are waiting for me,
For some silly action
On which to leap as
A reason to be afraid.
That old desire to hide
Has returned, but I no longer
Find comfort in discomfort,
Or pleasure in indirectly
Self inflicted pain.
This is an edge on which
I no longer wish to live.
I am glad to have found
Happiness, rather than the
Disappointment of not quite.

Posted by Rula Shin on 06/02/06 at 06:51 PM Yes, by hiding we often project what we are trying to hide, and reveal ourselves. Here it seems to me that the subject has become his own observer and has finally uncovered and faced his own subconscious desires/habits/urges. I like this piece, it speaks to me of a state we all should want to BE in. A state wherein once we SEE, we get into an intentional conflict, face ourselves and struggle like a warrior who shall accept no defeat, then WIN!..a place of continuous inner growth, ever climbing the evolutionary ladder. Great read :-) |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 06/03/06 at 02:29 AM well, the dividing line is thin. One just needs to jump but this needs courage. Besides, one only realizes when one is on the edge and in conflict. |
