you were sublime noontide to my twilight

by Vere Mantratriad

remember the time
I had to apologize
for my brain leaking
out onto your pillow?

it was after you’d said
the things I can no longer remember
and I told you I loved you
(or whispered it
-
or thought it)
and you asked if I was ok
a millisecond before
you rolled over
and nodded me off

you were always
so very charming
when you feigned
what I hoped was true

Boy, does this ring a bell. I hope he is out of your life. You deserve so much more than this. Believe me, please believe me. I'm begining to feel like a parrot, but it's true. Another winner from you.
