you should be here right now by Vere Mantratriadlove me, adore me
then you start to bore me
as I burrow into you
circling around your sky eyes
like a vulture screeching
extending my hand over charcoal
still dying out from a thousand nightÂ’s before
still, I break the waves
that rush over me when I think of
where you might be
who you might be with
what you might be without
because I knocked far too many times
voices swirl
sisters bake
and I think
of more things
