Pride Before A Fall

by Dave Fitzgerald

Thursday I saved the life of clammy man.
I left him with the paramedic, alive.
I walked away with a feeling of pride,
I've helped a dying man survive.
I have since rested well,
And slept like a dead man in my bed.
Then I heard last night at work,
That the clammy man was dead.

You are a hero- sadly, it was probably just "his time". Don't be hard on yourself- you did more than most would.

It's funny, how life has a way of putting its hand in our faces.
