pretty like drugs

by Vere Mantratriad

listen up to what you'll see
and write it down to hold it true
consider it for the collection
what you could tell the hereafter
we're all just biding time
until horses ride along
and trample on the graves
of those that have escaped
from your underside

and I could hold your favor
in a basket under my bed
but I can't hold your hand
when you're pushing me away

guard
under

beware the eyes of august

"and I could hold your favor, in a basket under my bed, but I can't hold your hand, when you're pushing me away" ~ what power these four lines hold within them.. i don't know .. maybe its just that i've walked this road before but this is a powerful piece... you get my applause
