horizon

by Peter Humphreys

deepest
darkness
lightest
gold
stretching
westward
blue
gaps in
floor cloud
patterns
merging
distant
places
view
northern
spectrum
lucent
rainbow
slewing
downward
to
flooding
sunrise
cabin
blazing
mounting
me on

Author's Note: The flight to Vilnius, as sun rose and flooded the cabin, was one of the most beautiful dawns I can remember.

This poem stretches down the page like a beautiful vertical horizon itself, very vivid imagery. Thanks for painting this view for us. smh :)
