The Dream by Jayme L HelmickInterpretations of
cascading dreams
Blinding performances
of unspent youth
A rhythm older
than time
A liturgy of strange
disturbances
Such a spectacle
of gyration
Freud would have
a field day
Thrusting accompaniment
Love that music
I don't believe it -
Paul Newman
in his prime!
05/21/2006 Author's Note: I wrote this my junior year of college and it was in the 1999 publication of Reflections, the literary magazine of my college. It was based on an actual dream that a friend had, and she was silly enough to have told me about it!
