Bricks Piled upon My Heart

by Matthew Taylor

each time gets heavier, not easier
breath gets more difficult to obtain...
in my heart, it rains.
every episode I wish...
was a lost episode.
some self inflicted, intentionally fueled by...
stubborn twisted pride.
I want to find MY place,
at these times, in which to hide.
I forsake responsibility,
useless is my own ability.
an answer, no! a cure!
for certain, forever, for sure!
I want to quit trying,
but can't if My Love is dying,
HER HEARTS BEATS INSIDE OF MINE!!!
our love is real, from above,
divine.

Author's Note: today my parents were married, 62 years ago, they are both gone from this earth, this has nothing to do with the poem I just wrote, my parents were the worst examples of how a married couple should treat each other, I will not be like either one of them in my marriage, I will break the cycle of futility, and regardless of the outcome, choose to give, love and always put my partner first, till death.

today's society does not take the vow "till death do us part" seriously anymore... even in the worst of times, you are still intertwined and this piece exemplifies this. i know things are rough and you are in my prayers.. God will provide a way when there doesn't seem to be a way
