There is no other profession
of this I am sure.
That begins to compare
to the work a mother must endure.
It is she who prepares
the wholesome hearty meals.
She’s the one called upon
to apply the love that heals.
Nurse, dietician, maid
yes she does this all.
She is the emergency responder
always ready and on call.
Accountant, psychologist
and business consultant too.
There seems to be no end
to all a mother has to do.
Teacher and spiritual advisor
who shows us right from wrong,
And how we should praise our Lord
in joyful word and song.
A mother works always
twenty four and seven.
There is no vacation for her
until she is called to heaven.
All this work a mother does
from daylight till past dark.
Because of the special love
that God placed in her heart.
Her only compensation
for all that I list above.
Is pride, joy, respect
and her families love.
Her one true reward though
will not be found on earth.
Only God in heaven
knows her true value and worth.
