What Now? by Joe CramerTell me, what now were you trying to say,
As we sat together the other eve?
Now that all of your words are in my way
Trapped in marriage to which you don't believe.
It is useless to you, useless to me
Or just anyone else for that matter.
So tell me right now, why are you not free?
You think that it will perhaps get better?
You should run and hide, but instead you fight
Living your life in turmoil, such an angst
For what I don't know, it's simply not right.
If you could you would but leave, but you can't.
I would give you all the love that you need,
If, but my small shouting voice you would heed. 05/06/2006 Author's Note: A sonnet, written while sitting here logged in to pathetic, concerning a conversation the other night with a good friend who is desparately trapped in a horrific marriage.
