Long Walk Home

by Joe Cramer

It's a long walk home
Not that I'm in any kind of
Rush or anything.
No one is expecting me
Since I'm all alone.
So I take my sweet old time
Rambling, ambling and scrambling
Through rain-sodden streets
Slick with winter wet.
It's a long walk to my house
Where the sweet somber embrace
Of so many volumes surround me.
Cool and quiet
Serene and silent.
This long walk home, this stroll
Clears my mind as I trudge
The walk of the unrequited.
It's a long walk home.

This one to me has a sweet serenity about it, combined with the reality of one... aloha..;-)
