alone

by Peter Humphreys

images
through windows
moving
as if
on screens
from left
to right
as we
sit
solitary
on that
train
rolling
through
valley green
by
mountain yellow
and
waters clear
to
village small
with
churchyard quaint
where you
rest
quiet
and I
bestir
the memory
of that journey
made
those years
before
returning
now
without you

no
with you

not alone

never
alone

with you

with
you

The flow, colours, and details make this poem so successful. The emotions of it grasp at my heart with your universal language. Fav+.

very well expressed sentiment. Simple words which carry a load of emotion! I enjoyed it!

This is based on a true event...and so lovely it is written inside the core of us who know. I always love your writing!
