We all watched an endless sea
of many smiling faces.
Shown on our TVs
from oh so many places.
They were gathered one and all
for a great celebration.
In every corner of the world
and each state of our nation.
All had come together
to pass away the old.
To add the final chapter
to last years stories told.
With hearts full of hope
for the dawn of a new year.
A hope for our prosperity
with far less pain and fear.
That all the tears and sorrows
of the old year just past.
From this new year forward
will no longer last.
That this new born morning
would dawn clear and bright.
To wash away forever
evils darkest night.
Hope that in the heart of man
the seed of love will grow.
To make each of us a shinning light
so that all the world will know.
To fill each new chapter
in the book of this new year.
With stories of love, grace, and mercy
not sorrow, war, hate and fear.
The hope for the New Year
burns bright inside the heart.
Waiting to be unleashed
to guide each new days start.
