Now There Are None by Joan Serratelli
This morning when I woke up
I had to face the truth
no more cigarettes,
I had smoked the last one
and there would be no more
for me~ the promise that I had made
was now fulfilled and final
But sitting here
I can't help but wonder
if I can keep up the fight
Addiction is a terrible thing
and I will not know
if I can keep away
from those darn cigarettes
or is this just a game I played
I have won the battle
but only time will tell
if I can continue to fight
and ultimately, win the war
