Ode To A Cigarette by Joan SerratelliBehold this lovely cigarette
so beautiful, so ready to be lit
but I have to wait another hour
because I'm trying to quit this habit!
O pretty ciggie, don't be sad
I will smoke you when I get a chance
I made a promise that I must keep
to quit smoking and learn to breathe
I've been smoking since I turned 15
I only quit once when I was expecting
The minute the baby came out of me,
I had a ciggie to start celebrating!
But now the time has come
to shed this dirty, lousy habit
I made a promise that I must keep
This yucky habit I must beat
I can do it
I know I can
I'm much stronger
than these cigggie butts!
O pretty little cigarette
when our relationship is over
I will remember and never forget
all the pleasures that we went through
