In The Air

by Matthew Taylor

Germs, dust, disease, and filth...
yes, it's in the air, beware!
humidity, moisture, and icy, chilly, snow..
yes, it's there..
an air of tension, an icy stare,
a ray of sunshine, and it's blinding glare..
all in the air.
an attitude of smugness,
staying within one's one airspace..
it all happens , every day..
in time within space.
Airplanes, birds, spacecraft, all hover..
the spirit of your own, very deceased mother..
the air is crowded-
but colorless-
and shrouded in darkness during daylight..
the air we breathe, is full of things,
full of oxygen, thoughts of mice and men.
How do we ever sift it through?
what is right, what is true?
we think, we gasp,
we panic, we grasp...
at nothing ....
it's beyond our control,
the air , the universe,
a huge swirling hole..
or the source of life?
put your thoughts ~
in the air we all share.
Beware.

Author's Note: if this was 1972 , I would chalk it up to a deep thought sector during an acid trip, but it isn't, maybe it was surpressed for a few years.
