his fingers are branches

by Emily G Myers

his fingers are branches
and they find the dents
the cracks in me

only to fill momentarily
never to patch me up properly

and I've lost the broken parts
so not even glue can hold me together

but he tries anyway
with his fingers

but each one
eventually
slips away

and I'm left in pieces again

his fingers are branches
that only deepen the dents
the cracks in me

Mmm. I liked this alot. I took notice of the fact that once his fingers were gone, the dents got bigger. It's like, someone comes along with pure intentions, but their help only hurts you more in the long run. Because YOU'VE got to be that stronghold. You're the only one who can fill those dents without making them bigger. At least, that's what I got out of this. Great write! Awesome read. And I agree with Jon, your work has got this hypnotic, fast paced beat that reels the reader in. Love it. Added this, too, to my favorites. =)
