topic: killing time

by Aaron Michael

you've made me blind
all that's left is the blotched
blinking spot that you
left on the back of my eyelids
when you went nova.

now my world has no center.
now gravity is only good
to send me spinning off
in the first direction i
feel compelled.

i didn't know you felt
i was just time to kill
that somewhere between
us you became numb to the passion
i thought i felt.

now i am numb too.
in one stroke you managed to
destroy me.

a black hole is heaven compared to knowing
that you could be the negative to
the picture i had in my head
whenever i thought of you.
i'd rather be an asteroid
then walk another step
thinking that that what i loved
was the death that i least expected.

Wow! I love that first stanza. I can see the spot on my eyelids! Very descriptive. And the last stanza is very powerful Great job!

my dear Sir, there's something about your words which always touches me on a deeper level. No matter what the subject of the poem is, it undeniably seems to find a way straight to the core, must be that that's where it came from to begin with.
