Raindrops on My Window

by Matthew Taylor

awakening to the sound of rain ,
glancing off my windows,
a distant sound of a train's horn..
very soulful, and comforting,
sunlight pushing through the blinds as if to say,
a sunny day is on the way.
plaid and argyle, suede and leather..
angora and cashmere..
textures , senses shaken and stirred..
scents that teleport us to places so dear,
memories of loved ones so special, now near..
laughter, pets, children just being kids.
the color of makeup, on eyelids...
the chill we get from stimulating conversation..
the warmth we feel from the Lord of creation..
trust, lust, security, purity..
success, acolades, a flush...ALL SPADES!!
a deep sleep, a sweet dream,
being awakened by a kiss,
these are a few of my favorite things!
