Undone

by Robin Patterson

The night unravels

  without hesitation

   grabbing effortlessly

    at the loose ends

    of my diluted sanity

   so bare and vulnearable

     and in its darkness

      I come undone

 grasping the hollow silence

   where no effort is made

   to keep up appearances

but in the light of day

    when I'm emersed in

      conversations of

     tragic proportions

       the lies are

     the only comfort

     I tell my heart to

     keep from bleeding
