A Reflection on Love
by Delilah CoyneLooking down from his obsidian spire,
the immortal beams at his beloved.
She is like him in every way,
His dearest companion, a kindred soul.
Separated by a vast chasm,
he can only gaze at her from afar.
Her beauty dazzles him
and her quivers and trembles enchant him.
She dances for him every night
and he showers her with light and adoration.
When she is hidden from his sight, a storm rages.
When she is absent, he does not exist.
A tryst that time cannot drown.
The moon staring at his reflection in the sea.
