Posted by Leslie Ann Eisenberg on 03/28/06 at 06:59 AM that's happened to me once or twice here on left coast time, and even chelle and karl have left the building. it does seem quiet (and i feel almost giddy) when i'm the only one here. your poem reminded me of the chill of predawn --"hall mouse" i was once called, because i read, shivering by nightlight beside my parent's bedroom door. i really enjoyed "lights off, tiptoe,,,behind the rows,,,yesterdays poems gently snoring." completely adorable!!! to me, a good poem evokes wonderful images, and often, powerful memories in the reader. you absolutely capture the feeling of being alone here. thank you. |
